Operation Uplink

Operation Uplink remains a valuable asset to our military personnel, our Post and the VFW in general.  Post 970averages sending out each month 100 of the $10 Phone cards to America's Military.  Most of these phone card are delivered to our Hawaii based Active Duty, Reserves and National Guard who are deployed in foreign areas such as the Balkans, Afghanistan, Arabian Sea, Persian Gulf, and South Korea, to mention a few.  Many of the recipients of the phone cards have shown their appreciation for Operation Uplink, e.g. by signing up under MIPs and have become VFW members at-large.  Some of these veterans have already transferred into Post 970.  We appreciate that very much.  Last year our ranks grew from 306 to 360 members, making Post 970 the largest VFW post in Hawaii.  For more information please call Frank Lamson at 455-5395
